Thursday, September 17: NUFEC and RSA will be hosting a special outdoor screening of this summer's ground-breaking blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Come join us on Centennial Commons starting at 8:30 PM for a night of free popcorn and adrenaline-fueled action!


Monday, September 21: NUFEC is teaming up with Allied Marketing and 20th Century Fox to show Ridley Scott's new science fiction epic The Martian 11 days before its general release! Come join us at the AMC Boston Commons at 4:00 PM, and download your passes here.

A Sampling of 2014-2015 Events:

May 14, 2015: NUFEC held a special advance screening of Judd Apatow's new comedy Trainwreck, starring Amy Schumer and Bill Hader, at the AMC Boston Commons.
April 14, 2015: Our annual "Silent Film with a Live Score" event, featuring expert musician Jeff Rapsis performing to the classic German silent horror Nosferatu.
March 31, 2015: Northeastern University's own Professor Bailey, the instructor of "The Age of Dinosaurs" class, delivered a "Science on Screen" lecture followed by a screening of Jurassic Park. 
January 26, 2015: NU and Improv'd perform at AfterHours followed by a screening of Obvious Child.

November 20, 2014: Outing to the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square to see Raiders of the Lost Ark.
October 11, 2014: A screening of the music documentary A Band Called Death with a Q&A with the film's director, Mark Covino, after the screening! 
September 20, 2014: Group outing to Otto's Pizza and The Coolidge Corner Theatre to see The Skeleton Twins.
September 4, 2014: Welcome Week outdoor screening on Centennial Commons of Godzilla (2014) and Back to the Future.

In addition to weekly film screenings, we've organized special events. We’ve hosted screenings of movies before their release to the general public on DVD, including Beginners, Melancholia, The Avengers, and Chasing Ice. We also engage academia at NU. During the Spring 2013 semester we hosted a lecture on Hitchcock and suspense with Professor Michael Dow and a lecture on climate change and climate extremes with Professor Auroop Ganguly.
